When I first saw this book, I was struck by the lovely shades of green -- perhaps it was the fact that I'm stuck in the gray doldrums of winter. But beyond that, this book holds great possibilities. Spreads alternate between pages of text with a facing spread and double spreads. On each single-page spread, Rabbit wonders about something, then as the page turns, the reader can't help but stop and wonder right along with Rabbit. I can hardly wait to read this one aloud, both to a group and one-on-one with a child.
I am more impressed with Henkes with every book. He is diversified and simple. I love this book, and loved sharing it with a group!
I shared this one at a toddler storytime -- the ooooohhhhs and aaahhhs were so fun!
