Love this new Van Allsburg! I find it so interesting that her BIG event went without much notice. The pics are classic Chris and intricate to the story.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great story and a great book. I love telling kids about this little old lady who went over Niagara Falls in a wooden barrel! Van Allsburg is a master -- love his perpectives. It's almost as if he were there!
ReplyDeleteI shared this story with my grandsons, 9 and 11. They were fascinated by the story and really enjoyed the large illustrations. Definately a keeper.
ReplyDeleteI really like seeing picture books that are geared toward older children -- and I love it when I hear about adults sharing them with the children in their lives! So many people believe children "outgrow" picture books. Not true! Not true!
